A law school largely has two functions to perform. The first of them is to train students with the ‘case method of instruction’ so that they may become successful practitioners in the legal profession. Secondly, the research culture at the law schools aids in bringing out the reforms that the law and societal issues require; this is done with the help of scientific and analytical studies of existing laws and also by the comparative method of study. It is the duty of a law institute to emphasize, through research and publication and through the character of its instruction, a unique and strategic mode of learning that not only focuses on professional training but also broadens the basis of legal education.

Geeta Institute of Law has a unique distinction as one of the prestigious Law College in the state of Haryana, offering BA. LL.B (Hons.), 5 Years, BBA. LL.B (Hons.) 5 Years, LL.B (3 years) and LL.M (2 years). The institute is very well located on NH-1, G.T. Road, Panipat, just 50 minutes run from Delhi, the capital of India. The institute was granted affiliation by the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in 2007 and affiliation has been approved by the Bar Council of India. The method of teaching in GIL includes Lecture Discussion, Case Law Analysis, Moot Court Training, Project Assignments, Court Visits, Legal Aid Programs and Internship and Placement Programs. The institute organizes seminars on contemporary legal issues and global concern on national and international level, conduct clinical courses and train students in legal research and legal writing. By the time a student completes the program he/she will be fully equipped with the required theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of law to become a full-fledged responsible member of the legal profession.
